Castle Society Virtual Reunion

Castle Society Virtual Alumni Reunion  Friday, 11 September 2020 to Sunday, 13 September 2020

University College’s Castle Society Reunion is scheduled for 11-13 September 2020. Given the current Covid-19 pandemic, Durham Castle is unavailable for on-site events. Thus, this year’s Reunion will take place differently. You are warmly invited to take part in a Virtual Reunion at which we will meet new staff including the new Principal, Professor Wendy Powers. The events are free to attend and does not involve travelling to Durham. We will use three different platforms spread over three days and you are welcome to dip in and out of the events as you choose.

The Reunion Dinner will take place on Saturday night and you will be invited to cook for yourself according to recipes which will be circulated, if you wish. Most of the events will be on Zoom, to which you may subscribe without specialist computer knowledge. Since we do not have a Chaplain at present (a search is currently underway), Morning Prayer will come from Durham Cathedral on Facebook. You are also invited to try a networking platform called Remo which you may enjoy and in which you can meet other members in small groups. Using other platforms will help avoid Zoom fatigue and the events are spread out over the weekend, as in a real reunion.
